My name is Chris Colyer and I am a professional nightlife and event videographer.
I started my event videography journey filming local events such as marathons and charity events. During this period I was a student at Chelmsford College studying film and tv. I learnt a lot of crucial skills there which has helped me get to where I am today. I finished my first year and loved it so I decided to continue on to the second year. At the start of the second year we were assigned to get 30 hours of work experience which suited the industry that we wanted to pursue. my first event was filming at the Garrisons in chelmsford. I absolutely loved it! After filming there one Wednesday evening, i walked past the nightclub Bar and Beyond- I decided to speak to their manager and asked if I could come in and film a free promo video for them.
After that I decided that I wanted to try and pursuit this career full time so I made the biggest decision at the time to leave college and try and do this for a living.
I HAVE NOT LOOKED BACK!
Since filming that free promo video I was able to build up my portfolio and this has resulted in me filming in some of the biggest nightclubs and festivals in ENGLAND. Ministry of Sounds, Creamfields south and new world fest are only a few- and I am extremely excited to find out where my camera takes me next!
